Nima lives with Catrine, who wants to help him get asylum in Sweden. But because she is in love, she wants something back.
Director and screenwriter Disa Östrand
(b. 1986) is trained as an actress at the University of Stage and Music in Gothenburg and at Stockholm University School of Drama. She made her directorial debut with the short film “Dani” (2018) which competed at the Uppsala International Short Film Festival in Sweden and was an award prize winner at the Stockmotion Filmfestival in Sweden 2019. She has appeared as an actress in many Swedish film and TV productions and is currently acting in the Swedish TV series “Love & Anarchy” and "Lyckoviken". "Nima" is her second short film as a director and screenwriter.

“I wanted to portray a dramatic but ordinary day in Nimas life, through his unbalanced relationship with Catrine. Nima's lack of options and Catrine's naive longing are both real and might make you question who is using who.”
